A Little Bit About Lapis
Lapis lazuli, commonly known as lapis, is a deep blue metamorphic rock used as a semi-precious stone. It has been highly prized for its intense color for thousands of years. The best lapis lazuli is found in Afghanistan and used in jewelry, carvings, and other ornamental objects. It is also used in painting and as a pigment for artists’ colors, known as ultramarine.
