On the Road Again!

Willie Nelson said it best, my friends, and now that May is here, I am officially ‘on the road again’!

This happens to coincide with just about every life event that can possibly happen in a family, and the chaos is flowing freely! Funeral, graduations, college move-out, out-of-state move-in, you get the picture. If it’s not happening in my family right now, it’s simply a coincidence.

As a creative, I’m used to a little chaos. I must say, however, even this seems a little extreme for me!

While a few of the items on my plate right now are of the fun, personal variety, DCJ has its fair share of calendar additions, too. Summer 2026 show season prep began in the quiet months of January and February with applications and photography submissions. (Thanks to everyone who sent me their new show suggestions!) March and April brought jury selections and several acceptance letters, as well as a couple of rejections. Boooo…lol…jury selection is NOT for the faint of heart. Through all of that preparation, I’m happy to say that as of May 1st, my calendar is nearly complete.

First Stop, Indianapolis
Show season kicks off next weekend at the Broad Ripple Art Fair. This is the first of two (possibly three) stops in Indiana this year. Covington Art Fair is my second stop in Indiana in June, and I’m excited to see all of my Fort Wayne friends! It’s been a few years, and it’s good to be back. And, if all goes well, I’ll get off the waitlist for Madison Chautauqua in late September.

So Old, It’s New Again
The second stop on my tour of the Midwest is Midland, MI, for the Midland Summer Art Fair. The last time I visited this show was …2017? 2018? Wow. Safe to say it’s been a while! Look for me May 30-31st, I’m so excited.

Four, Five, and Six
Back to southeastern Michigan from July through September. These are my core shows, and summer wouldn’t be the same without them: Plymouth Art in the Park, Milford Memories, and Art & Apples. These shows are closer to home, but big enough to make me happy that they are each in a different month, because by August, I’m just starting to question my life choices, lol.

And that’s my summer, friends! At this time, the calendar is fully updated with my current acceptances. There may be a late addition or two if I am pulled off the waitlist for Woodland Art Fair or Madison Chatuaqua. Subscribe to my mailing list and/or my calendar, for updates.

The best part of my summer is visiting with you in person, I hope to see you soon!

xo, Suz
