Daisy Chains Frequently Asked Questions. For a more detailed inquiry, please contact us with your specific question(s).
What Covid-19 fulfillment practices are you using to keep us safe when we order from you online?
Your safety is our first concern during this pandemic. Daisy Chains Jewelry is a very small business run out of my home studio. Thankfully, no one in our household has tested positive for the Corona Virus, and we continue to stay vigilant and follow Michigan and CDC directives to keep people safe.
Prior to packaging, we sanitize our hands, and then we sanitize your purchase. Once we have packaged your order, we hand deliver them to the post office wearing masks and sanitizing our hands. If you would prefer to have a porch pickup during the pandemic, arrangements can be made for that to happen as well. You can leave instructions with your online order to this effect, or you can email or message us as described below.

At Daisy Chains Jewelry we use natural stones and sterling silver, Thai silver, copper and brass. Brass and copper will be labeled as such, and are oxidized in the exact same way that we oxidize our silver. Copper and brass will gain a natural patina with age. If you would like to restore some of the original color to copper or brass please contact me for suggestions on how to do so safely. Chemical cleaners are not made for all stones, and therefore not recommended to clean DC jewelry.
Sterling Silver vs. Thai Silver
To keep your Daisy Chains Jewelry looking its best, we DO NOT recommend using cleaners of any sort. Each piece of DC jewelry has an antiqued look and the oxidization you see on your sterling chains and clasps is intentional. Our jewelry is made exclusively with sterling silver and Thai silver unless otherwise noted. Sterling silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Thai silver is considered fine silver at 99.8% silver content. All silver tarnishes over time, however, higher silver content (Thai silver) tarnishes more slowly. Therefore, wearing your Daisy Chains Jewelry is the best way to keep it looking its best!
Storing your jewelry on a metal earring stand or box for long periods of time between wearing will also speed up the oxidation process. If you find that your silver is darkening, we recommend that a soft cloth is the perfect thing for buffing silver that has darkened. (I like to use my blue jeans) If your jewelry becomes soiled with oil, makeup or by long term wear, we recommend a tiny dab of toothpaste and a soft toothbrush to remove the dirt/oil and a good solid rinse with warm to hot water. This DOES NOT apply to pieces that have leather, silk, or pearls. When cleaning tarnish from your pieces, take care to avoid the stones and pearls and never immerse pearl / gemstone / leather / silk jewelry in solvents of any sort.
Any questions or concerns about our jewelry, please feel free to contact us on our customer support page.
