Where can I find Daisy Chains Jewelry?
● You can find DCJ here in my online store.
● Twice a year I hold virtual trunk shows on Facebook. Like and follow my Facebook page for the latest information.
● You can find DCJ at in-person events and art fairs in and around the state of Michigan. Every year my in-person events are subject to change. You can see where I’ll be by checking out my Events page.
The best thing you can do to take care of your jewelry is WEAR IT. But, aside from that, here are a few tips that will be helpful:
● At Daisy Chains Jewelry I use natural stones and sterling silver, Thai silver, copper, and brass in my designs. All silver, brass, and copper are oxidized giving them an antiqued patina. Do not use a silver dip on DCJ Jewelry, it will remove the patina.
● Over time dirt does get into the cracks and crevices. Soap, lotion, etc… build up. To remove this I recommend using an old, very soft toothbrush and a tiny smear of toothpaste, or a gentle soap to brush away the grime. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry. For gemstones, such as opals & pearls opt for a damp cloth only, and immediately dry.
● Tarnishing happens. DCJ designs are already oxidized, so you will notice less tarnishing than polished silver. However, it does occasionally happen. I like to buff my pieces on an old, soft pair of blue jeans, but for more delicate pieces a jewelry cloth can be used. *Be careful not to remove the patina along with the tarnish. When cleaning the tarnish from your pieces, take care to avoid the stones and pearls and never immerse pearl / gemstone / leather / silk jewelry in solvents of any sort.
● Copper and brass will gain a natural patina with age. If you would like to restore some of the original color to copper or brass please contact me for suggestions on how to do so safely.
● While showering is ok for most DCJ, DO NOT wear your DCJ into a hot tub or chlorinated pool. Showering or swimming is not recommended for any leather or knotted-silk pieces.
● Chemical cleaners are not made for all stones, and therefore not recommended to clean DC jewelry.
Sterling Silver vs. Thai Silver
Our jewelry is exclusively made with sterling silver and Thai silver unless otherwise noted. Sterling silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Thai silver is considered fine silver at 99.8% silver content. All silver tarnishes over time, however, higher silver content (Thai silver) tarnishes more slowly. Therefore, wearing your Daisy Chains Jewelry is the best way to keep it looking its best!
Any questions or concerns about our jewelry, please feel free to contact us on our customer support page.
